Blast from WV

The Bayer plant in institute last night had a big explosion that you could feel for 50 miles!

I felt it around 1030 but didn't know what it was at that time. It's always been a concern around all these chemical plants here in the "chemical valley"

I remember about 35 yrs ago when we had to evacuate. We left the house with wet rags to our face and it smelled like ammonia and rotten eggs, and it burned the skin and eyes.

The explosion last night claimed one life, and has another in critical condition in a burn unit.

It makes you wonder if our conveniences and so called progress is worth it. Remember the families of the dead and injured in your prayers.

Dog training, who trains who?

Ever wonder about that? We get a puppy and start teaching it, oh how cute! Look it's begging give it some. Then before you know it, it's up in the morning at the barking of the dog to take it outside. Then it's up to get a treat when he is over by the box begging for one. Oh how cute its got the Frisbee in his mouth he wants to play! The dog is by the door with the leash honey can you take him this time I'm busy.

Sound familiar? ah ugh, has the teacher became the student? Pets really can be smart but do you think our dogs can be THAT smart?

I have a great little Pekingese, all black almost 3 years old, and he rules the roost. send me some of your stories and pics.

I have a great story of my own. We had an outside dog named fluffy part Australian shepherd so it liked to heard the kids around in the yard kept them in the fence and out of the road.
One day when I was cooking and asked my husband to watch our 3 yr. old I found out just how smart and special our fluffy was. Like I said I was cooking butch was suppose to be watching Jon, I came out side when I noticed butch on the phone out in the yard walking around, I came out and said wheres Jon? He looked at me with really big eyes as if he just realized he forgot about him! We started looking it was about 45 min. into the search the whole neighborhood was out it was starting to get dark, and I realized I hadn't seen fluffy. I yelled the dog the dog is gone too. start yelling for fluffy not Jon!We did and immediately the dog ran from the road back to the creek bed where she had been, repeatedly until we followed and there was Jon, unhurt, and fluffy never left him! I will never forget that, send me your unforgettable animal stories.

Thanks for stoppin
